Dreamslayer28

Dreamslayer28, 29 and a proud Zamboangueno, is an English teacher at a private school in the heart of Manila. Born and raised in Zamboanga, he is currently living in Quezon City. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Foreign Language Education from the Middle East Technical University, and he currently takes up his master’s degree in Creative Writing at UP Diliman. He has also resided in Istanbul and Ankara.

When he’s not teaching, traveling, reading, or drinking fruit shakes, he writes essays and poems. His works have appeared in the ASEAN-IPR Poetry Collection, VAINE Magazine, The Sociological Review, CCP Ani Journal, Philippines Graphic, Young Star, Manila Bulletin, and the Philippine Daily Inquirer, among others. In addition, he writes for Transit Dialog from time to time – and he also writes for other publications as well!

The author also wrote two policy commentaries on culture and the arts for a government thinktank in the Philippines. He is currently working on one to two papers for the abovementioned organization.

Finally, he’s currently working on his thesis in creative nonfiction, though he doesn’t know when he would finish his work. The author claims that he is extremely lucky to have passed the language exam for his course.

He intends this blog to be a place where everyone can talk about the basics of writing in the Philippines, as well as everyday life and everything in between.
