Here is a universal wedding prayer that I made for my friend’s wedding a couple of years ago!
Since there were many guests who came from different faiths and creeds, I had to think of something that would be relatable and palatable to everyone’s sensibilities.
It wasn’t easy and I was super scared when I recited it during the wedding ceremony.
However, it worked out well, so overall I’m happy with the results!
Strong and faithful God,
We humbly beseech you to bless everyone who has come to witness this auspicious occasion.
We humbly ask you to give abundance and guidance to the newlywed couple as they embark on their new journey in life.
May You keep them safe from bodily, mental and spiritual harm, instill respect in each other and reward them for their perseverance.
May You give them strength and courage to withstand and overcome obstacles in life.
May You provide everyone present, from the families and sponsors, to the bridesmaids and groomsmen, to all the distinguished and honored guests with bounty and abundance as we celebrate the union of these two sincere and young hearts.
May You bless everyone who has come to celebrate, and offer to glorify Your name with this day’s success, and the days to come.
Amen.
