Buffing the shower in MyHordes should be a thing.
The shower is considered to be one of the most useless buildings in MyHordes at the moment due to its lack of utility and/or aesthetic value. It doesn’t provide a defense value, a buff (i.e., healing exhaustion, giving action points, etc.), and remove negative statuses. Worst of all, it doesn’t provide players with either a role play value or a distinction upon completing its construction!
According to the old D2NWiki, it used to have the possible effect of removing the “Terrorized” status – but right now, the shower is simply, well, for all intents and purposes, useless.
It costs five water rations, four twisted planks, a piece of wrought iron, and a copper pipe to build the Shower at the moment. It can be found under the construction group for the Pump and it’s a permanent structure.
Now, here’s the idea: Double the cost, turn the blueprint into a Rare or Very Rare one (and place it under the Foundations construction group), and turn it into a repairable structure, similar to the Fireworks Foray and the Reactor. The whole thing should break down within five days of no repairs, which means that the buff is tied to the activity of the town and the willingness of the players to cooperate.
As for the buffs, here’s what could be done:
- Give 1 AP to every citizen who uses the shower. The shower can be used by a player once per day as long as the shower stays constructed.
- Give the “Golden Shower” distinction upon building the Shower (if designated as a Very Rare blueprint) or an ordinary “Health and Hygiene Maniac” distinction if it stays at its current blueprint designation or is turned into a rare one.
I don’t know if it’s workable technically or not, but I think it would be a fun thing to have. After all, one’s existence in Hell doesn’t necessarily mean that the simulacra of having creature comforts should be completely abandoned, no?
