For some reason, at four in the morning, all the [REDACTED] become extremely aggressive and gain immense strength, agility, and instincts. It’s as if HELL has come to life. Our weapons, even though they’re state-of-the-art, are barely able to kill them. Machetes and combat knives were a little bit better – though the best weapons against them are explosives and rockets. Out of desperation, we tried to splash water from our canteens, and lo and behold, by the Grace of the Almighty, [REDACTED] melted into mucky, odorless puddles, as if from some apocalyptic scene in a holy book!
The more superstitious among us have attributed this phenomenon to unholy causes.
We didn’t have any injuries during this night’s operation, but the heat is ridiculous at this point in time. In addition, operating in an urban jungle with 30 kilograms of gear at 50 degrees Celsius for at least three days straight in the field is a Herculean feat, to say the least.
Saints say it’s a test of faith. I say it’s a simulation of faith.
