VALORANT: A Poetic Tribute

This poem, called a “VALORANT: A Poetic Tribute”, is something that I penned for the now-popular first-person shooter game called Valorant.

According to the main Valorant page, it is described as follows:

“VALORANT is your global competitive stage. It’s a 5v5 tac-shooter matchup to plant or defuse the Spike in a one-life-per-round, first to 13 series. More than guns and bullets, you’ll choose an Agent armed with adaptive, swift, and lethal abilities that create opportunities to let your gunplay shine.”

If you want to read more examples of poetry, you can read my published poems or my featured poems on my blog! I do hope that you enjoy going through the intersections of writing, culture, and games!

Valorant

Tell me of a place where there
is no quarantine. Ascent
is possible through a rift
that leads to a wild future.

They call it Valorant. I call
it a radiant journey, with
lots of agents and skills, where the
limit is one’s wrist and mind.

At the top of the world is a
haven, where you fight to the end.
You can be alive again. There’s no
despair until the clock strikes.

When the clock strikes thirteen, all stop.
Their souls are split into sure fates.
Wisps bind your destiny, placing
you on a throne…or a cage of death.

Tell me of a place where hope
exists. They call it Valorant.
I call it a journey to a
future where you and I are stars.
