So this WR 4.5 patch has got everyone thinking whether War Robots is going to fade away or not.
Given the fact that it is another awful patch, it proves once again that Pixonic does not even look at test server and/or player feedback and just push out these things, playerbase be damned.
Everyone knows the drill at this point: Promise something, deliver it, then nerf it as soon as humanly possible.
I can’t help but laugh at the things that Pixonic is doing for War Robots; EA looks like a walk in the park at this point.
Now, going on to the few good things about the patch:
Tridents Galore
With the new Trident reload mechanic, Bulwark Tridents and Furies own everyone that does not have an equipped Ancile.
Staying behind cover? Don’t even imagine peeking out as these monsters will eat you alive!
Your only chance to wreck these guys is to fight them beyond their range or approach them as fast aa you can!
Different Matchmaking UI
It is indeed fresh.
Now, if only Pixonic would actually start fixing the matchmaker and actually pit clans (or 6-man squads for that matter), against each other based on their rating, regardless of the time that is needed to match up.
Someone from VOX mentioned on the forums that they are already sick and tired of beatdowns and that they are willing to wait for a few minutes to be able to find a proper matchup.
Less Hellburner, More Weapons Use
All varieties of weapons can be spotted now in War Robots, and each and every single one of them is viable to use!
My suggestion is to level up those Tridents and Tulumbas (plus Aphids) as they deal a ton of damage for their price and size against many of the robots in today’s metagame!
Conclusions
At this rate, I do not hope anymore that Pixonic will change the succeeding patches and make this game remain as the nice, tactical mobile mech game that it used to be.
As a matter of fact, I have started to mainly treat this game as a futuristic third-person shooter!
Yet, I still hope for a miracle.
A miracle that may never come…
