New Arena incoming soon? A short guide...to be updated when Arena comes live!

Just pretend that this is a new guide altogether, as all the elements of this soon-to-be-Arena iteration have already been discussed.

But seriously, this is now a highly competitive mode. If you lose, you are going to lose all of your gold, leaving you with nothing but 140 power cells (seven charges) as a consolation prize.

Here’s the breakdown based on the previous one:

1st Place: 300 Gold+140 Cells (200 net gain)
2nd Place: 150 Gold+140 Cells (50 net gain)
3rd Place: 100 Gold+140 Cells (breakeven)
4th Place: 140 Cells
5th Place: 140 Cells
6th Place: 140 Cells

I still don’t recommend this new version of the Arena to players – unless they are confident with their individual piloting skills (which, to be honest, is a must in playing this game anyway). If you are afraid of losing your gold, stay home on the live server.

The hangar is as follows (all at level 12):

Haechi Orkan (the archetypal 2nd-generation Death Button. Vulnerable to plasma, but kills everything in its range otherwise).
Ember Taran Inquisitor (the strongest robot of the bunch. Can kill everything and the stealth is super powerful at 5 seconds).
Shocktrain Bulgasari (Cancerous. Actually, not really: The Shocktrain has already been nerfed to oblivion. Still good against plasma; the shield helps a lot).
Taran Kumiho: (Your friendly neighborhood beacon capper. Just used to fill up the five).
Zeus Fury: (Kills every. Single. One. Except those with PHYSICAL SHIELDS). Still. ANNOYING.
Especially at long and open ranges.

How to play?

Geez.

In this hangar, you have to start wisely and know when and where to drop.

Those with FFA experience should know how to play all of these robots.

Those who have grown up with the new generation (i.e. since 2017) should be comfortable with these setups and have no complaints.

Take note that this is Skirmish vanilla Free-for-All, which means that you can use your Haechi Orkan and Ember Taran Inquisitor AGAIN. AND AGAIN. AND AGAIN.

Not so in the Arena. You have to be wiser there…and you have to learn proper positioning this time around.

Your enemies will not forgive your mistakes. They are going to capitalize on it.

Hi Haechi, are you scared of Papa?

ENSURE YOUR KILL. MAKE SURE THAT YOU CAN WIN THAT 1v1. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OTHER PLAYERS’ BAD POSITIONING. KEEP YOUR CALM.

If you do this, you will succeed if this setup ever goes into the Arena.

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed it!
